The Oklahoma Curriculum Improvement Commission is one of the oldest and most credible state professional organizations dedicated to improving curriculum and providing professional development for teachers and administrators.

The Oklahoma Curriculum Improvement Commission operates in cooperation with the Oklahoma State Board of Education  (OSBE), the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA), the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE), and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) to promote curriculum improvement.

OCIC Purposes

  • To organize and promote meetings, conferences, workshops and professional development designed to bring about curriculum improvement in Oklahoma schools.

  • To inform all Oklahoma schools of current curriculum improvements and to serve as a liaison in enabling participating schools to understand the work each is doing. 

  • To enlist and encourage all schools of Oklahoma to participate in a statewide program of curriculum improvement.
